For the first time in Ukraine the Command and staff course, tactical level (L2) of the Land forces has been initiated

For the first time, 17 officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will study at the tactical level (L2) command-staff course at the university.

The aim of the course is to prepare officers for further appointments to higher positions.  The course is focused on the study of the officers work during the planning and conduct of battalion and brigade combat actions in the operations of forces groups. In the process of planning this course, the experience of developing programs in close cooperation with foreign partners, in particular, the Military Academy of the Republic of Lithuania, was used for the first time.

The training program encompasses a wide range of knowledge that an officer must possess while performing the duties of battalion commander, staff officer, chief of staff, deputy brigade commander. 

Conducting a Tactical Level (L2) command and staff course of the Land forces is another step in transforming the military education system.

During the course perspective approaches to the organization of the educational process, planning of training sessions, new forms and methods will be tested.  Classes will be held in “united” groups, and the main focus will be on developing competencies based on practical tasks.
